Unfolding Love

Today I spoke to my oldest friend over the phone. She called to share the joyous news of her engagement. She radiated happiness, excitement, anxiousness, apprehensions and gratitude in her voice. Her long awaited wait finally came to an end last week when she met her perfect match. On one hand where her heart was pumping with excitement, she could hear anxious beats from the same heart. On one hand where she is all set to take a step and enter this relationship, the same steps are being the cause of her worry. For me, this is nothing but a naturally normal reaction of entering a new-found loving relationship, especially the one that leads to tieing marital knot.

We all experience our share of ups and downs in our past relationships and these experiences stand tall when it comes to choosing a life partner. Life manages to convince us at some point that its not a good idea to trust a stranger and we sometimes give in to this life's learning and that's when, may be, there are these mixed feelings that settle in when we meet someone new. When life gives us bitter experiences all the time and suddenly we see ourselves as standing in heaven, its always hard to digest this bit. That's when we think aloud "Is this for real or am I dreaming?", "I gotta be careful coz I may end up getting hurt the same way!" "Should I trust this person?".. Most often, then, our thoughts begin with 'What if?' or 'But then'... And its equally amusing how with the time these confusions settle down like you never had them before. The more time you spend with this person, the more you start feeling secure and comfortable.. Love begins to unfold and you begin to deal with newer aspects of this relationship. You start putting efforts in sustaining that relationship.. And in no time, that person becomes a vital part of your world.. So yes! I guess it's okay to have these mixed feelings and still continue to walk this new path.

Its always a blessing to see two people start this new journey with mixed feelings in their hearts and reach a world full of love and togetherness. That's the blessed feeling I experienced when I heard my friend share her biggest joyful moment:-) Today, I dedicate my prayers to their new beginning and wish them immense love, happiness and togetherness for a lifetime:-)

May be its time to ask yourself - When was the last time you prayed for someone else's happiness?? Today?? Yesterday?? or the day before?? If you taking more than few seconds to recollect, perhaps its your moment to begin right now:-)

May love, peace and happiness always be with you:-)
